Overview

Well-aligned, straight teeth aren't just beautiful, but they're also more comfortable and healthier. An improper bite and crooked teeth may lead to future dental concerns that may be painful and expensive to fix. This is why board-certified orthodontist Dr. Saoly Benson is happy to provide clear, removable aligners for her patients in Las Vegas, NV. With our in-house digital lab, Dr. Benson offers a multitude of clear aligner options, including suresmile and Invisalign. At your consultation, Dr. Benson will help determine which type of removable clear aligners are right for you. If you're interested in having healthier teeth without the hassle of traditional metal braces, schedule an appointment at The Art of Braces to receive more information from Dr. Benson.

Best Candidates

There are multiple factors that may cause your teeth to be misaligned: sucking your thumb as a child, genetics, a missing tooth/teeth, or physical trauma to your face. If your teeth are misaligned, it may cause more oral health concerns, such as a bad bite (dental malocclusion), uneven wear on your enamel, trouble chewing and speaking, as well as jaw pain and toothaches. If Dr. Benson finds one of these concerns, she may suggest an orthodontic treatment, like clear aligners.

Clear aligners are ideal for both teens and adults who would like straighter, healthier teeth minus the hassle and visibility of braces. Even though the aligners should be in the majority of the day, your aligners may be removed for cleaning your teeth and eating, plus for special occasions and physical activities. Much less obvious than traditional orthodontics, your family and friends will probably not realize that you're using your clear aligners.

What To Expect

Your initial aligners will be made from digital impressions taken at The Art of Braces. When they are ready, you will come back to receive your initial trays with instructions from Dr. Benson. You should keep your aligners in for at least 20 hours every day for your treatment to work, ideally taking them out only for cleaning and eating. In time, you'll move on to your next set of aligning trays as they carefully shift your teeth closer to proper alignment. You need to attend appointments around every 4 – 6 weeks at The Art of Braces to have your aligning trays evaluated and to receive new impressions so your next set of trays can be ordered. How long you need to use your specific clear aligner system will differ, considering the initial condition of your teeth and your goals; however, many patients need to wear trays for around a year.

Follow-Up

As soon as your bite is aligned, it is vital to prevent your teeth from shifting into their original position. A clear, fixed Hawley or Vivera retainer will keep your teeth in position once your treatment is complete. Dr. Benson will help you decide which type of retainer is best for your needs and lifestyle. Dr. Benson will discuss with you how long to wear your retainer, as well as how to clean it. Dr. Benson will keep watching the alignment of your teeth and bite during your follow-up appointments to make sure your teeth stay in their new place.

Insurance Coverage

Many of our patients find that part of their treatment cost is paid by insurance. Our team can determine your coverage and figure out your remaining fees. The Art of Braces offers many forms of payment if you are not using insurance. At your consultation, Dr. Benson will talk about how much your treatment may cost and how our office can help to make your clear aligners fit into your budget with our flexible payment plans and no-interest financing.
